Event Details

Hartlebury Castle is launching its new series of Food for Thought talks, beginning with a fascinating subject from Remember the Fallen creator Sandra Taylor. A retired nurse and now conflict historian, Sandra will spend the afternoon sharing with you how war & conflict have shaped healthcare throughout history.

Wars have occurred throughout the ages but despite the horror, pain and suffering they bring, each one has provided medical and surgical advancements. Discover major developments that have not only improved care for the battlefield casualty’s but have been adopted by the civilian medical community and are in use in our local hospitals and trauma centers today. These include treatments such as X-rays and blood transfusions, wound care and plastic surgery.

Your ticket also includes a delicious afternoon tea kindly provided by the Friends of Hartlebury Castle & the Hurd Library.
