Conductor: Andrew Litton
Grace Williams: Fantasia on Welsh Nursery Tunes
Copland: The Tender Land Suite
Shostakovich: Symphony no.10
The National Youth Orchestra of Wales returns to the stunning Prichard Jones Hall for the first performance in its 2019 concert tour. This year, the orchestra will be under the expert guidance of first-class American conductor, Andrew Litton. The programme captures the very nature of three very different continents with the playfulness of Grace Williams' Fantasia and the depiction of America’s Mid-West in the Copland contrasting magnificently with the drama of Shostakovich’s symphony. Featuring Wales’ most talented young musicians it promises to be a performance not to be missed.
