Amicus welcomes back conductor Chris George who was so hugely popular when he worked with us in November 2017 on a programme of Beethoven and Mozart. This year, inspired by our recent Leipzig trip, JS Bach is at the heart of our programme, with three of his chorales arranged in full-blooded symphonic versions by Leopold Stokowski (of Fantasia fame), and Brahms' great C minor Symphony, which is also indebted to the great master. The soloist is Christian Elliott, the new principal cellist of the Irish Chamber Orchestra and a superb baroque specialist.
