For the first time since 2012, Chapterhouse Theatre Company is thrilled to return to the open-air stage this summer with Laura Turner’s adaptation of Jane Austen’s Emma. Set in the fictional village of Highbury, young Emma Woodhouse – described in the novel’s first sentence as ‘handsome, clever, and rich’ – develops a penchant for matchmaking after she successfully pairs off two of her friends. But it soon transpires that amidst her plotting, Emma finds herself stuck in the middle of a tangled web...
Bring your picnic, chairs and blankets and enjoy Chapterhouse’s delightful theatrical adaptation of Jane Austen’s classic novel.
